Birth Control in China--- Beneficial or Harmful?

My research paper is about the birth control policy in China, whether it is good for the country of the other way round.

This topic is the one that I have long been interested in. I was born in 1987, so therefore I am the only child in my family. I had experienced the feelings of being the only child of the family. When I read an article appeared on the Straits Times, which discussed the birth control problem in China, I was attracted and I decided to do some research on this topic.

There are actually quite a lot of articles about the birth control policy in China on the Internet. But when I read through them, I found many of them are biased, or just simply not credible. So I turned to the NIE library to look for some printed materials. There were in fact only a few books that are about this topic, and they were all very useful for my research. Although it really took me a lot of time reading through these books, I still found it worthwhile.

Any idea?Tell me here.

I am surprised to see how efficient the one-child policy of China is. Although I do not wholly agree with this policy, I still find it beneficial to the Chinese society as well as the economy. The thing that I found needed to be improved is the way in which the local officials implement the policy. Also, I feel that it would be better if every couple could have 2 children, which is what I have always been hoping.
