About ME!!
Hello! I am Martin. I
am from Xiamen,
China, and now I am studying in Singapore in National Institute of Education as a scholar.
Talking about my interests,
I am in fact interested in so many things. I love listening to music, especially classical music. My favourite composers are
Tchaikovsky and Mozart. I also enjoy hiking, thus my favourite place in Singapore is Mt. Bukit Timah, the tallest mountain (?) in Singapore. I really benefit a lot studying in Singapore. I’ve learnt to live in a multi-cultural country,
to accept different cultures. I think this is the spirit of Singapore.
What I've learned at NIE
The first
time I came to NIE, it was an amazing journey walking through the campus. People here are so friendly, and the buildings are
really wonderful. Being studying in NIE is one of my most treasured experiences in Singapore, and I have learned a lot.
I’ve learned to read fast and accurately on ARC classes, to write academic essays on AWS classes, to listen to academic
lectures on ALS classes, to communicate with people and to give presentations on OCS classes, and very importantly, to compose
documents, presentations etc., for academic purposes on DLS classes. I’ve also learned to work within a team when working
on project works. Being the monitor of the AP class, I’ve also learned how to be a leader, which I think would be important
for my future development.
